Receiving the Atlas Spatial Impact Award 2025

This year I had the honor of being recognized with the Spatial Impact Award 2025 by Atlas. It is both humbling and energizing to see my work in open-source GIS and water resources acknowledged in this way. For me, spatial analysis has always been more than technical workflows, it is about empowering people to understand their environment and act for a more sustainable future. 

Awards are never the end of a journey. They are milestones that remind us of the communities, colleagues, and students who make the work meaningful. I am grateful to Atlas for this honor, and to everyone who continues to share knowledge, challenge ideas, and build maps that matter.
